Led the design of AI-driven experiences in MSM—streamlining data ingestion with Optical Character Recognition (OCR), enabling smarter decision-making with Intelligent Insights, and collaborating closely with data scientists to shape models and deliver customer value.

Context & Challenge

  • Customers faced manual, error-prone data prep.

  • Sustainability insights were hard to surface and act on.


Impact

  • Accelerated data processing: Designed OCR Detection to help customers save time extracting and uploading Activity Data, reducing manual errors and streamlining ingestion.

  • Improved emissions reporting: Delivered AI-powered Scope 2 invoice processing using AI Builder, cutting down manual entry errors and effort.

  • Shaped Intelligent Insights: Partnered closely with the Industry AI team through weekly design sessions—directly influencing the AI data model while refining UI patterns. Intelligent Insights launches Nov 2023.

  • Expanded customer value: Shared early concept wireframes with Costco during Customer Voice calls; their feedback informed design refinements, and they agreed to pilot test before Public Preview.

  • Advanced team knowledge & adoption: Presented MSM’s Intelligent Insights at AI Design Day (Apr 2023), viewed live by 15+ and replayed 40+ times, fostering understanding of AI design patterns across teams.

  • Strengthened organizational impact: Following AI Design Day, Azure Carbon Optimization and M365 Admin teams adopted my insight types and design patterns for their hackathon projects.

  • Enabled successful launches: Contributed to Public Preview of Data Capture (Apr 2023) and supported internal/leadership reviews by providing design visuals to the Industry AI team.

  • Demonstrated operational excellence: Balanced scope vs. complexity by presenting design options with tradeoffs, ensuring realistic development timelines.

  • Mentored emerging talent: Guided a PM intern on the What-If Analysis feature, coaching him through end-to-end collaboration; his final presentation used my designs as proof of concept.

  • Leveraged existing innovation: Built on peer AI hackathon projects and Document Intelligence work from FSI Retail, saving engineering resources while accelerating MSM’s AI roadmap.
